There was a 40% chance of rain and it all fell before our event at Mountain Creek started. We had overcast, then some blue skies and eventually a nice dose of sunshine. Radar Rob is right. A 40% chance of rain is a 60% chance of no rain. 10 slammers made there way up to Arnprior to play Slammer favourite Mountain Creek. From the pre round breakfast to the last drop of beer on the 19th it was simply an awesome day. From the longest putt additional prize MC offered up to the great course conditions to the fantastic service the staff provided us from the onset, I would say this was one of the best golf days of the year. But the truth is, this is just par for the course at Mountain Creek. Don't be shy about making a trek up to play anytime. The Ottawa Valley hospitality is not just for Slammer events. Jonathan and team just treat us right. May your ponds always be full of water!! .................................................................................. Mulder out.

  • DOGGIE REPORT: 4 dogs were caught today. Macdahustla on hole 3 at 22', Mulder on hole 7 at 6', Spud on hole 14 at 7.5' and IronMaiden on hole 16 at 15'. Each dog was worth a modest 12 bones. Thank you Grumpy for volunteering to do the doggie report. My appreciation is only dwarfed by your 6 brothers.

  • BROKER4TICKETS SKINS REPORT: There were 5 skins today. The Game on hole 2, Spud on hole 5, IronMaiden on hole 8, F6Noob on hole 9 and Grumpy on hole 15. Each skin was worth 10 bones. Thanks The Game for volunteering to do skins. Your volunteerism is strongmanly appreciated.

  • MPC MATCHES: The Game defeated Macdahustla on 18 in the A Class MPC and moves on to the next round. IronMaiden/F6Noob defeated ToothFairy/Spud in the Mixed MPC on the 19th hole. What more could you ask for in terms of competition. Great play by all 6 who were in MPC's today and good luck to those moving on.

  • There was a toast on the 19th to Jonathan, the pro at MC. "Jonathan, may your ponds always be full of water." Thank you for all you do for golf.

  • Mountain Creek offered up a pint to our "Longest Putt" on the 9th green. There was humour banter after F6Noob held the spotlight. Zoey was further but missed his putt. Does a missed putt longer than a made one count?? The answer is clearly no. But Mulder bought Zoey a beer so all is good.

  • Spud got his 200th win when he took down IronMaiden on hole 14.

  • On hole 5, Grumpy had to be reminded to speed up. (Yes, I know no one believes me...but it happened!!

  • F6Noob story: Playing Lombard Glen, Iron Maiden went in the drink on 12 but then proceeded to put her 3rd shot off the tee into the cup. Can we say "mulligan"??

  • The carts had the sign below on them. I am curious if this applies to delivering beer/food to my home in Kanata. haha. (click image to see larger version)
