Afternoon event for this double duty Slamming day at Champlain and two threesomes of Slammers came out to start the week with this mid afternoon round. It was a fairly cool day compared to the hot days we had last week and the breeze made it feel cooler but the Slammers stayed in the SunShine and there thankfully was no sign of Lightening. The (just past) halfway hut served up some Chips with the dogs and some tunes were being played in group two with a little IronMaiden in the queue. Some were talking of future golf trips and hopefully when the borders open again we can all be TravelFreaks, right SteveO ? Keep stayings safe Slammers
Sometimes a brand new Slammer comes out and and knocks it out of the park right out of the gate and today SteveO did just that ! In his very first event he takes his first win against Lightening and comes up just short of starting his Slammer career in the top 20 of the Ds with the draw against TravelFreak. SteveO leaves two doggies balls on the greens that were unfortunately cut off but practice makes perfect and I see many doggies in this new Slammer's future! Lightening has been playing lots of golf and it's paying off as he shoots 15 strokes better at Champlain today than his SA. And he mentioned he'd be back again next week to try to better his Slammer play. Keep up the great work !
POP was great as Slammers kept pace and flowed through in just over 4 hours
The Champlain employee at the "hot dog shack" said that he served a record number of his famous hot dogs yesterday as the course was packed with over 280 golfers! So great to see all the courses busy
