Open season was declared by ten travelling Slammers today with a little jaunt to the Syracuse area. Foxfire GC at Village Green is always a fun track and the pro shop was super organized to deal with "the first come, first served" crowd that flooded the course before 9am today. Groups were put out in order of arrival and the Slammers were off only fifteen minutes after their anticipated 10am start time even though the course had a frost delay until 9:30. The course was a little wet in areas but there were no complaints from these die hard Slammers who were simply happy to be back on grass. And even though this Winter was a mild and relatively short one, watching your ball sail into the sky is a beautiful thing. Spring is still a couple of weeks away so getting this full weekend of golf in is a treat. Great group today and more of the same tomorrow. Ordering Chinese and poker tonight ! IronMaiden
