Two full groups of Slammers met at Pine View GC for what very well may be the last "local" outdoor event of this new 2024 season. Not gonna lie it was a tough day out there. There was a 40 min frost delay which could have been longer but the pro shop moved two groups ahead of us to the 10th tee to start and so by 11:10 am we were off. It felt quite comfortable when we first left the tee through the front nine but as we got to the 12th hole on the back the wind picked up, the temps dropped to sub zero and it was a slug fest to get through each hole after that. Do we regret it though? NEVER! There was no danger of frost bit so we, the tough Slammers that we are, were still quite happy to be out there. Jokes aside there is no time of the year where it feels this special to be out there at the end of the season. Golf as in life, sometimes you have to come to the end of not having something to make you truly appreciate it. Very fun day. Tough but fun. Thank you everyone.
IronMaiden limped her way through the front nine but was able to gain some momentum on the back and come back on her matches with Gator and Stymie to hold on for the win on the 18th hole. One birdie that held on for the skin, a par skin and a doggie top off a good day. IM collects 12 Matheson Group Realty points along the way.
