August 16 2010; It is hard to believe a full year has come and gone since the passing of Neil Cascagnette, a very special Slammer. For those that knew him there are no memories so vivid, there are no emotions so heartfelt and there are no mere words that do him justice. A mountain of a man, dwarfed by his character, his integrity and his loyalty to his family, his friends and strangers alike. Able to command a room with his presence and set it at ease with his smile I leave you with the words of a pupil, friend and competitor: "This man was what a golf professional should be...proud of what he did and of the traditions of the game. More than that he was a hell of a man and larger than life in so many ways. If you were a friend of Neil's you were always a friend. I was proud to be one. I'm one of many that will miss him."
