The event changed for us. All were informed that it would be a shotgun start. We weren't certain as to why. Then we saw that there was a Bushtukah tournament.. The next bit of business to deal with was the fact that all five groups wouldn't go out together. Hmmm - very interesting - how would we handle the doggies? Other groups in between us - but one person from each group was asked to act as a doggie master and it worked. Great weather / great pace / and some great matches made for a - you guessed it - a great day. What happened? Well first there were a couple of milestones and then one of the tour's faves was the highest bone collector. A couple of TC champions get crowned. OH yeah we had the return of Ticklar, who many were reading about his demise - well KaDaver you are still the only DEADMAN. Get Tick to tell you all 'what were the events of Sunday'. He sounds better than a doctor!

Notables

  • ProZee is the 18th slammer to play in his 200 career event.

  • Chilly is only the second one to earn 2000 points.

  • Blue was robbed of an opportunity to get his 100th win - first a bailage, then a non-challenge. He did win his 99th and will be the 49th to get to that milestone.

  • TC champs successfully defend. Mixed Champs RipZone and Cash are the first two time champs. They took down Iron Maiden and Ticklar (this time no gurney was needed) on hole #7 {their 16th}. The damage was mostly done when the champs won four straight holes (2-5).

  • Another TC champ defended - however unsuccessfully. On the fifth tee Rexall was up four. PJ won 5,6,7, & 8. Four to play and all square. They took turns, each winning one of the next two holes. Exciting match to witness, all square with two to play, these kids went at it, but Rexall finished birdie par to win. Congrats to Tour rookie Rexall, the new Super Senior champ.

  • Honourable Mentions to #1, Chilly for successfully defending. To Clang for also going undefeated to maintain #16, & Cash who with three birdies beat #2.

  • A very good debate arose in one of our groups about pace of play ... I would invite you all over to Facebook - to our Slammer Tour page and discuss PoP. Here is the way to start it "Keep up to the group ahead." "But they are faster than they need to be, we are still at a good pace."

  • LATE EDITION - Mea Culpe! I never knew that Cash & Iron Maiden were also playing in their TC "A" match. Cash won and moved onto the finals vs. Juice.

  • Quotables

  • "Grumpy is a quick mo-fo!"

  • "Striped socks don't give you rank! Striped sleeves does."

  • "The Game is so big, I thought that there was somebody sitting in that other chair."

  • "Have you looked in the mirror? We lost the group ahead of us by choice."

  • "You can take it out. Publicly!"

  • "Did you just squeeze into the Super Senior division?"

  • "Wow all that pressure, each one of you have chipped one in, and I am running out of time to do so." "WHAT! you still have three chances."

  • "I didn't defend, he blew it!"
