Well, if you check the quotes, you will notice that it was a cold day, apparently. The day started off being a record for the Slammer Tour. Yes there were 75 people slamming today! Then we arrived had 4 call in and bail and another person decide to NOT. Oh well ties last season's closer at 70 people. Still could have been beaten if Grumpy answered his cell phone and saw that #1 Chilly wanted in. What a great host Mark, Dale and team was ensuring that we had a success. Due to the dip in the mercury they offered every golfer a 'free' bowl of chilli {I wonder if this is the first summary written with two spellings of the chilly word.]. Somebody's diet won't allow for the warm tummy filler, but reports came back that it was good {sounds like it was written in Genesis}. As if that wasn't enough. The owner Mark Seabrooke walked thru the room and personally handed everybody a complimentary green fee. THANK YOU! While we are giving out thanx - what about to our assistant commish Andy. 'Malone' Rajhathy once again did yeoman's work. Most often, we play in these events, enjoy ourselves, and don't even think about that 'behind the scenes' work. We tend to complain about the 'changes' to our challenges. But look at an event with 132 golfers, and all of the various formats, and what he did was FANTASTIC.
