Week two of the fifth annual Executive Golf Club Championship. We venture north to Quebec and get to enjoy the panoramic colours of the Gatineaus. Marc Foucault and his staff were very welcoming and showed us much support. The food was very plentiful ("See how thick those sandwiches are?"). All those that ordered were more than pleased about what they ate. Well there were some close races going into round two, and we now have more of them. The 'B' division has one stroke separating 1st to 4th. The top ten are only 6 strokes apart. A very interesting final indeed, slated for next week. We have never had 6 'A' classers so close going into the final round {most other years the person in 2nd or 3rd are further back}. Then there is Iron Maiden and SummerSnow. A perennial battle that has IM ahead by 4 strokes going into the final round.

Notables

  • NOTABLE: It isn't today, that he will have this MILESTONE, but in his very next event. Pearl the English word for the Egyptian word Louli, will play in his 600th career event, next time out. Congrats Ticklar you most ADORNED Slammer! As for milestones Crenshaw teed off in his 100th just about an hour before Sunny did his today.

  • TC Super Senior - Defending champion PJ, waters down the fire and closes FlameWorker to advance to his second straight final and improving his Super Senior record to 8-1 in this division over the last three years.

  • TC - Ladies "A". Although it took 34 holes to do so, Iron Maiden spins the devil around to eliminate Taz {a very notable start to her Slammer career}. Last season's "B" champ gets her 2nd career victory in 5 attempts in this division.

  • TC - Junior. Readers grab your seat and beware. The only Junior champion that the Slammer Tour has ever had, put his perfect 5-0 record on the line. SunnyBoy accepted and shaved the eagle on the 14th hole. Tis true, Baldee is no longer the champ and when you go to the TC Junior page there IS a new picture. See the first star write up on the right.

  • HM to pointZero. Why? Well especially the OCs will appreciate this. Today we have 19 groups. and when we print the sheets, we no longer have to check the order of the groups. They are all now clearly marked at the top with the group number. Another new feature, is that all of the TC matches have their own box on the sheet. THANK YOU programmer extraordinaire for continuing to make this website so incredible!

  • Notable #1: LoneWolf, playing in his fifth career event {first in Canada} becomes the 14th slammer to record an eagle this season. Congrats on those three shots on hole 10. We hope to see you back again {or I will get to keep the envelope.}

  • Notable #2: although there were many great scores today ProZee's 76 [from the blues], was 6 below his scoring average which is harder for the 'A's to go that much lower.

  • New Slammers and name changes: Husband changes name to Hubby for his second event, and wins a dog worth 72 bones. Welcome to first timer ChooChoo. Next rookie to join will be Dracula. Adrian Mestecanean is from Transylvania and will debut next week at Canadian for the closer.

  • Over on the right, you read about the #1 hats. The Commish has decided to award one to any Slammer that becomes #1 in their division. He thought about it and tried it out by giving one to pointZero as a test. It seemed to be a success. So he tested it again and realized this will take off. So Slammers when you do so send in your order. I am aware of seven of them that should be ordered in the last week - all but the "C" division which Bulldog has held since Sept 4.

  • Quotables

  • "Surgery is set for Dec 6, I will be a new man on the 7th." "Just like Pearl Harbour," replies DoniJoe.

  • "I like lift, clean and place, because now I can play like a man!"

  • "You Mother putter!!"

  • "You need more air under your balls!"

  • "I have 126 yds to Ticklar's left cheek. And 127 to his right cheek."

  • "Golf is hard!"

  • "You are starting in 10 minutes, but look at that you are already 2 minutes late."

  • "That was prodigious!"

  • "Nice BUGS!"

  • "Where's Chilly?"

  • "I wonder if he is compliant in anything?"

  • "We are buddies." "So far." "It's not over yet."
