Notables

  • Notable ONE … Many people think things about our scoring median are ‘wrong’. Well today two of every three Slammers had a score within 4 strokes of THAT median. The best relatively speaking today are ShelGame (-7) , Lucky, JMoney, Deter, Chilly & Billiards. PizzaMan, Newfie, BearCat, Wally & Stevie Ray need to buy Juice a drink. She saved them from being mentioned in this section that has the TOP FIVE of those that scored higher than their SM. The top five are Duke, Pouf, Rocco, GaspeBoy, & Juice (+8 and just one stroke worse than the others, NOT being mentioned here).

  • Notable TWO … Today’s pace was good to fair – BUT I firmly believe that had we not had the groups thrown in between our split tees – it would have been a VERY GOOD pace. That is because of everybody honouring their agreements. THANK YOU! Keep it up.

  • Notable TWO A (attachment) http://www.executivegolf.ca/pdf/EG%20Pace%20of%20Play%20Agreement.pdf

  • Notable THREE… last time Rulz ran the 100 - he lost to Number 7 - no wonder - he couldn’t even catch a porcupine today! He did chase it down the fifth fairway, but stopped when he thought about the quills. “Porcupines have soft hair, but on their back, sides, and tail it is usually mixed with sharp quills. These quills typically lie flat until a porcupine is threatened, then leap to attention as a persuasive deterrent. Porcupines cannot shoot them at predators as once thought, but the quills do detach easily when touched. Many animals come away from a porcupine encounter with quills protruding from their own snouts or bodies. Quills have sharp tips and overlapping scales or barbs that make them difficult to remove once they are stuck in another animal's skin. Porcupines grow new quills to replace the ones they lose. Porcupines like to chew on canoe paddles, so, although you may get quills attached to you if you brush by a porcupine, they won’t chew on your golf clubs!”

  • Notable FOUR … Those orange plastic duotangs {now have Slammer Tour logos on them} keep your sheets dry and clean. I am pretty impressed at how you all returned them with scorecard in tact. Many of you gave me credit for a great idea – well it wasn’t mine. I have forwarded your compliments over to Helen.

  • Notable FIVE … Look at quotable #5 below, apparently ‘I’ made the bird. I think that is a whine – do you? Should we collect $2 for the kids? I guess that maybe the 9th quotable should also be considered.

  • Notable SIX … Deter went 2-1 today, and that may not sound so fantastic to you – but today was his 21st career event. He joined last August 13th, so he is a little behind Gator’s pace. He now has 4 B scores. 12 C scores, and 4 D scores on his scoring median. With today’s event, he has removed a 102 from his list. The other thing that is rare on his stat page is two wins. The only other time that he did that was when Iron Maiden shot a 102 and The Enigma had 104 on opening day – way back on April 6th at Prescott. Congratulations on your second best score ever on Tour.

  • Notable SEVEN … There was a Rulz spotting today. Rumour is that he will be out more, now that Bookie and Iron Maiden have passed him in career events. He is worried, that other guy that keeps losing event records to his Ottawa Sun Scramble partner, is about to pass him and would have next Saturday, but will have to settle for the tie in 7th place with 420 events. By the way - his foursome today consisted of the Tour's all time three biggest loser of bones - their current total? 8687 bones
