CANADA DAY @ Canadian. All systems were a go. Canadian owners, pros, assistants, and staff were A1. The Executive Golf set up team arrived to find a pretty special putting contest set up, then went about their business of making it all look magical. I even heard rumours that ShortStack was on time! Announcements, contests - or was it concerts? {I guess that you had to be there!}. Then the trains to the starting holes and the shotgun start. Seeing as all play at the same pace, at a full shotgun, and our group was done in four and a half hours - everybody MUST have been as well. YES readers - this was a 4.5 hour shotgun. CONGRATS to all golfers. Apres golf - there was an awesome meal and many many prizes. This was all a fundraiser to help out Lamplighters and especially the Refuse2Lose Team Bryce. Our own Malone was the MC and performed some of his best (a positive maturing from this observer). Even the weather man complied with our wishes. What about EG? Taking over the managing of this event - and there we were - 150 strong - standing at attention and singing the anthem together ... WE STAND ON GUARD FOR THEE!

  • TC Match - the first of this season's third round matches happened today. Third seed Cuba defeated 8th {amended to 6th} seeded Blue 3 and 2, to advance to the fourth round. All of this and playing in the Feature Group today.

  • Notable two - was that there was no toilet paper awarded during this shotgun event.

  • Maybe the only Slammer event that didn't have presentations afterwards. Sunny - the surprised Doggie Master did a remarkable job at collecting the bones. Cuba seemed equally surprised to find out that he was the Skins Master, but embraced the duty and did a great job, with some help from his friends Pearls and Blue. Each puppy had a 35 bone value and I have your bones Duke & Vinnie. The skins were worth 26 bones each and first timer Mac collected two of those.

  • Notable four is that because this colossal celebration ended too late to ensure the stats were entered before Tuesday's event at Outaouais, I have had more time to actually do a write up and temporarily go back to a lengthy Grumpy report.

  • Notable five to all of you readers - warning about the tee blocks at Canadian - there are now only four colours. Gold, Orange, White, and Black.

  • McGoop makes the sixth notable - NO BIRDIE EVENT! Where does he do it? At the course that sponsors our Birdie race. Thank you Canadian G&CC! - Dale , we will see you at the Slammies.

  • MILESTONE ALERT - Rulz had a birdie on the fifth hole today, he was the fifth Slammer to get his 350th career bird.
