  • TC matches. On the final day of the 1st round, Wally takes down Goofy 8 and 6. Goofy had a double TC event. He and Grumpy could settle nothing after 18. On the 19th hole, Grumpy’s eight footer rimmed the hole to advance this newcomer, Goofy, to the 2nd round.

  • Pace of play. As the 1st group left, there was concern about POP, all four were gathered together and instructions and warnings were issued. The remaining 12 of the field heard and concurred. It is always good when the last group comes in at 4.10.

  • During the three stars announcement, Grumpy was guilty of whining about the difficulties when the sheets aren’t filled out correctly. He submitted his twonie. There were announcements made about the multiple ties, and the number of undefeated Slammers today, so I believe the whiner in the parking lot owes the kids.

  • Thank you Pepi for doing a sweet smelling job with the Culligan Doggie Report. Shorts answered the bell to do the Evolution Physio Skins Game even though he was in the final group.

  • I grew up on the same street as Wally, hung around with his two younger brothers, but never really met him. I noticed his name as Rexall’s partner in the Ottawa Sun Scramble in 2009 and 2010. Last year he joined the tour and I heard how pleasant a golfer he was to be with. After playing 18 holes with him today, I would have to adopt him as one of my favourites in a foursome. In spite of his weird putting style, and his knack at having a bird in the hand (picture to be on our facebook page soon).
