Notables

  • Notable ONE ... TC update. Precious, Tooth Fairy, & Chubs have a new member to the class of 2013. Rookie Legal Eagle is the latest member of that class. He was warned that to win this championship – he would need to shoot a C score. Ironically had he of done so – he would have moved into that class. No fear – neither was worthy of such lofty heights today. He took down Grumpy! They shook hands after 15, and then the quote below was heard often. See quote #2.

  • Notable TWO … Gator – our first star was presented with his commemorative Slammer shirt for his 100th career event. Be prepared to see that bright yellow on the course soon. After setting the rookie standard last November (59), for most events, he now has a new record. He’s the fastest Slammer to play 100 events. He did so in 450 days, eclipsing the previous record by ten days. By moving to the top of the list, he has removed Kricket from the top ten (868 days). Which rookie, sophomore, or third year player will be next to join this list – removing ProZee and his 829 days?

  • Notable THREE … Although she is still without a nickname {Clear Mountain is leading the race over Mrs T}, Julie has now played her second event, and recorded her first win – see the third star notice to the right. Come back sooner – it has been 85 days since Edelweiss. Good luck tomorrow in the Ottawa Sun Scramble.

  • Notable FOUR … The Culligan Doggies were collected by rookie Fodder. He got the job done but realized that there are a couple of hiccups that need to be fixed. He acknowledged and I look forward to him being the Doggy Master again – remember rookies – try it sometime. He handed those bones out to Wolfman for #4, Pistol Pete #11 and a pair to Bookie for #8 & #13.

  • Notable FIVE … That same Bookie stepped up at the last minute to be the Skin Master and once again did a great job – THANK YOU! See the chart to the right to see who he gave 21 Dynamic Physio & Chiro bones to.

  • Notable SIX … Group one teed off and walked down the fairway. They represented 900 career events among them. The next group had 23 between three of them and Turtle. He was tasked with ensuring that they kept pace. How did he do? Look at the first quote below and see, that one day after having his best ever Slammer score – he continued with another great round, today, MERCI Tortu.

  • unNotable SEVEN … plus thirteen on the par threes? AND THAT with a par on the first one.

  • Notable EIGHT … Your drive goes into the water immediately off the tee. You tee up another. Same result! So we used to walk down the fairway and hit our sixth shot (from where the drive would normally be). Do we anymore? What about a par three? I know that it has happened and yes if you are putting for a six on a par three – do your opponents really care? What about the field? What about the Tour? Consistency? I bet that there are different stories out there – so please send me an email and let me know the rule. Grumpy@slammertour.com

  • Closing NOTE ... when you are there on Friday - remember to read your bill on the 19th. The service fee is already on there - whether you want to add an additional tip or not. Much discussion about it - and NOW YOU KNOW!
