Coordinator: Grumpy

I hope that you like Leonard Cohen {his songs will appear in quotations}, because today being his 80th birthday - there may be some tributes. "We Came So Far For Beauty!" Actually we came all the way to Arnprior, and found ShortStack. The course was ours, as soon as Jason McGrath showed up, wink, wink, wink. "Hallelujah!" There was some weather - which I hate to talk about, however, we did see lightning, and came in for a 45 minute delay - hoping the "Avalanche" of rain would stop - "Waiting for The Miracle." Some stayed out - who was wearing that "Famous Blue Raincoat?" Some didn't go back on the course, when the delay was over, and the fortunate ones that were finished before the storm enjoyed a prolonged nineteenth hole... "Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye!" See you at "The Great Event" at eQuinelle on Saturday! Happy Birthday Leonard Cohen - "Closing Time."

Notables

  • Over there on the right - I have placed certain parts in "quotations", and also below at notables TWO, SEVEN & EIGHT.

  • HATS HATS HATS - You all remember that you win a hat when you become #1 in your division? Well everybody contact Iron Maiden with your order. Today, we have six divisional new #1s. They are DrPepper (ladies open/B), Halestorm {junior), chill (sr lady), Rulz (B), ZenGirl (C), and Grumpy (D).

  • Hole in one club – Skeeter bought in today {have you heard about Malone's bet for next Saturday at eQuinelle?

  • It is not easy to choose three stars when twenty four Slammers go undefeated. A couple of Slammers won a pair of dogs (one of them also had a skin). Therefore the five skins and six dogs went to nine different golfers. Other considerations, when choosing a star are the upsets in the match department. Well today – there were 33 of those. Who made the largest leaps up the Slammer Tour ladder? These eight had two upsets each: Aggy, chill, GaspeBoy, GoTee, Grumpy, Newfie, Number 7, & Skeeter. Newfie had the largest jump {107 rungs from 185 – 78}. Fodder moved onto the third rung by upsetting Burnsy.

  • Toilet paper today - Despite, what you see on the right under the challenges section. Dracula was not ten holed once – let alone thrice. More about this – some matches started on the back nine and they have all been checked and Aggy did move RonBow into the club – come to the Slammies to win your most valuable prize.

  • Notable ONE - Milestone alert: Stevie Ray played his event today and we all know that he is number two on the list. This event {the mark of the beast} has to be removed soon – come on Wednesday at Glen Mar. Today his event is apropos his Nemesis. Speaking of her - Iron Maiden became only the 4th Slammer of all time to record her 800th victory, when she beat Juice 5 and 3. GoTee is #39 to get 400 points. He did it with his win over Fingz on hole thirteen.

  • Notable TWO – DOGGIE TIE – There is a precedent, and the two Slammers have split the bones but when we have a tie – we do a coin flip to see who gets the stat. "One of Us Cannot Be Wrong!" Copy and paste this link to view the result: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-BZTkxU3RU

  • Notable THREE – We are very fortunate on the Tour to have some good teammates to do the measuring and to compare the notes. Although today’s two doggie masters used a more similar measuring method than did yesterday's two, problems can still arise. For instance, there are occasions when the doggie ball must be removed to make a putt. PLEASE REMEMBER to put the ball back. I really take my hat off to all the Culligan Water doggie volunteers today. Lucky you are awesome!

  • Notable FOUR - THANK YOU to those poor cart guys. As we finished in the rain – most golfers left their carts near the 19th, and the guys had to go corral them all

  • Notable FIVE - So here is an interesting scenario. What is the par on hole 16? 4/5. Does the par/ birdie depend on the gender of the player or the teebox that the player is playing? I like to start these conversations.

  • Notable SIX – Thank you for all of your help today… RonBow, Orange Crush and especially to you Kevin Brady for having to put up with that quotable from Zen Girl. Official Volunteers ShortStack, & Kookie.

  • Notable SEVEN – It has been tried and tested – but regardless of what hole that you start on – you will never change the outcome in match play. Yes you may win 2 and 1 instead of ‘on the 18th’. A draw will always be a draw, and whether you start on the back nine – or in a shotgun start, the outcome will remain unchanged. "That Don't Make It Junk."

  • Notable EIGHT – Club throwing alert – "Never Any Good" to throw your club. Fellow Slammers getting apologized to after the fact, should NOT condone it but it sure is nice to know that the happy family which is the Slammer Tour, is so forgiving. Please see the final quotable below,

  • Notable NINE - Our organizer, the asst Commish, the VP of EG, our pro hisself – Malone has done a great job and was still able to play well enough to qualify.

  • Finally – this was another tough skins day (33 birdies). We had birds on 14 of 18 holes, in the end our Dynamic Physio & Chiro skins went out to five deserving players – see list on the right. Did you notice that four of the five skins were for a two, ONLY Woodsy’s birdie on 18 was with a three.
