Stonebridge

Well, the forecast seemed grim with rain each hour and some lightening bolts in the picture but Mother Nature was fair to the Slammers and allowed 14 or so holes without any rain at all. Stonebridge drains well for the most part so conditions were also more than fair given the 25+ mm of rain that did come down today before and in the later part of our day. The rain was so heavy that ten or so courses were not open the next day so they could recover from the storms. The dark clouds and lightening flashes did appear late in the round and a number of players decided to call it a day and walked in to safety. A reminder that it is up to each individual to make the call with regards to their own safety on the course during a storm. Nobody can tell you to stay out on the course and nobody can tell you it's time to leave. It is up to you to make that call for yourself. In the end safety comes first, not the match, not the 5 bones on the line, nothing except what you think is best for you.
