Coordinator: Grumpy

UNBELIEVABLE, I hardly ever play on the Slammer Tour, and as a result am playing our HOST course for the first time this season. I have played 27 other courses thus far, and it took me til my 54th event to get out here. So for those of you that are aware - there are changes here. NOT aware? Well hole 14 is now a permanent par three {thus - they changed #11 to be a par five - 'who put that reservoir there?'. But, if you haven't been out for a while I encourage you to come back - next event on August Ninth. That fourteenth fairway looks awesome! By the way - they take good care of us here and today's flags were the Tour's Commish Cup flags - what a nice touch.

Notables

  • TC Open match. Number four seed, Woodsy closes #5 Bugsy, and he does it very early (by their standards}. Good luck next round when you are up against McGoo or Malone.

  • TC D match. They tried to give this match to their opponent many times throughout 18. Both failed and had to go play #15 as their nineteenth hole. Grumpy (seeded #2) wins and advances over BogeyMan (#13), and awaits AngryBird or Gazzif.

  • Notable ONE - nobody paid to enter the hole in one club today.

  • Notable TWO - Nobody was ten holed, although in today's field it COULD have happened once.

  • Notable THREE - Apparently the nickname has nothing to do with John and Lorena Bobbitt, and it's origin is owned by WC's (Bailey now, but WS WeinerChop) daughter. YES you can change your nickname!

  • Notable FOUR - I remind you all that making a claim is nothing personal and the processis there to allow us all to be better informed about the Tour.

  • Notable FIVE - mark your ball so that when a ball looking like yours shows up 100 yards closer to the hole and after the three minute allowable search time, there is less confusion.

  • Notable SIX - do you have to mark your ball on the green? If so when? and if you don't is there a penalty when it gets hit? Automatic? the same in Match play as it is in stroke play?

  • Notable SEVEN - EAGLE ALERT - oh yeah - something about missing the ten footer and Ozzie had to settle for a birdie on hole eleven.

  • Notable EIGHT - these events are more successful with more of you involved. Thank you to Ozzie - the Dynamic Physio & Chiro skin Master, and to his sidekick BogeyMan who handled the Culligan Water doggie duties {involves no scooping!}.

  • Quotables

  • There are very few quotables when half of the field are rookies, and 2 of the 3 groups have a rookie as the group leader with the sheet. EVERYBODY is encouraged to add your quotes - especially when I am the OC because I really don't mind typing them out, and heard from very many and very often ... that there are Slammers out there reading these reports with their morning coffee.

  • "Bugsy left his game in the car when he rushed to the first tee."

  • "Hey Roy, it has been a long time. Let's play together, Brother."

  • "Ozzie, an early season candidate for Rookie of the year."

  • "Now introducing Knickers, who is continually improving on his golf etiquette."

  • "Shouldn't it be Lion?"
