Notables

  • Just before I start with the notables, I am down to six potentials for the three stars and they alphabetically are Ace (note 19), DrPepper (note 12), Duke (note 18), Kaki (note 5), NikeMom (note 20), & NivLac (note 21). I will complete this a little later. I waited to hear what the Slammer world says - votes were sent.

  • Notable ONE - Yes this foursome was only a threesome! But what was involved? TC Open division semi-final. Won by #1 McGoop over our club pro Malone. The other member was none other than GaspeBoy. They arrived at the 18th tee and McGoop had won nothing yet. He was up one on Malone and AS with GaspeBoy. Never mind how he beat GaspeBoy – ask Ricky next weekend. As for Malone – all he had to do was sink his 5 foot birdie putt and they would have continued to holes 19-36 next week. So a summary of this group - they had 12 birdies, and only one six (for Malone on #2 – maybe that was the difference!) on the scorecaard. Then there was GaspeBoy’s (he still has a commanding lead for round three)18th. Trivia question – when was the last time that somebody had six birdies and went winless? By the way this threesome would have lost to Ottawa SunScramble partners Gator & Grumpy because today score counts. Their threesome 223, we were 222 (at first glance).

  • Notable TWO – This was a typical B class match. Close scores at the end. FingZ goes 3-0, and his upset of Irons gives him the career lead in their matches. Good luck on Saturday Fingz (5th) and Flyer (7th)

  • Notable THREE – RonBow goes out today as an honourary Slammette. He goes home 0-3. Yesterday, chill won the day in her foursome, became the new #2, which is her highest ranking ever and today she defended. SCORES count today so congrats on your 79! You lead the ladies' open with IM (3rd) & Juice (6th)

  • Notable FOUR – Call agent 86! There is much CHAOS here. F6Noob gets added late, Swanny & ShortStack are learning how to operate the golf boards and “Show me the Money!” (J$ is missing). Swanny (Superman on FaceBook?) enters the final in second place.

  • Notable FIVE – A Slammette group with no RonBow! When you have reserved parking – there is a sign stating so. It is almost always in front of your car. So, when you leave … back out and NOT over your sign. It wasn’t so bad last year – your car was old, but this time you did it with your new car. Speaking of champions – CONGRATS to you ‘HONEY’! Kaki is the 2015 TC Ladies D champ with her bogey on #17, she beat Orange Crush. That win vaulted her from 258 to 92 (a gain of 166 steps up the Tour ladder). You three will play again on Saturday - are just three strokes apart for the best race of the event.

  • Notable SIX – Nobody advancing from this group into the club finals. MILESTONE ALERT – he has finally done it! Inch plays his 100th career event and gets his picture on the page, and will be contacted soon by IM to get his shirt

  • Notable SEVEN – What a group! Three of the top ten and PJ scores the only upset when he beat Dracula. Now they are all top fourteen. Smitty (chips in twice for birdies) & Prior Jock advance tied in fourth.

  • Notable EIGHT – Twin Dad (T1) & Bubba(4th) both advance to the final. Look at the final four of the TC and see that these two guys are there also.

  • Notable NINE – BearCat advances. Pommie upsets Fontana and Angry Bird (the three of them are two strokes apart after 36 holes) to jump 76 rungs up Slammer rankings.

  • Notable TEN – Results happened as I would expect – great tied match between Figmo & Wally. Good luck next week Wally.

  • Notable ELEVEN – playing two first time opponents and avenging his first match defeat to ShelGame, Habib goes 3-0 to advance to the B final. He also moves into first place as the rookie with the most events this season. Did you all see that new Senior Slammer? He also advances in 7th place.

  • Notable TWELVE – Another Slammette group with no RonBow! Three out of four scored below their medians. Halestorm (2nd), Dr Pepper (4th), ToothFairy (5th) & Flash will all chase for top prize. Dr Pepper finally beat Tooth Fairy after two straight defeats.

  • Notable THIRTEEN – scores within five strokes. Only three matches. Shteeme and Blue tied. They move to the Senior final tied in third. They both lost to YipMeister on the sixteenth, and Shteeme gave up his one day old ranking of #32.

  • Notable FOURTEEN – Hey Gang you were not the starter's favourite today but you are the only group with everybody advancing to the final? No upsets in this foursome

  • Notable FIFTEEN – Steel Crazy upsets Pepilepu, the skunk advances to the senior final. Intruder plays on Saturday as #3.

  • Notable SIXTEEN – Lucky & Ripzone both had an EAGLE yesterday! Steamer & Number 7 were not intimidated. I know because I asked. At the end - the two nonEAGLErs beat both the others. Welcome back Steamer (3-0)

  • Notable SEVENTEEN – Another missing Slammer, so this foursome goes out as a three. There was very little won here, with two ties and nobody advancing. These three entered today being only 22 rankings apart. The only win was on the 18th when Bull had a double.

  • Notable EIGHTEEN – Three upsets for Duke. Newfie moved up 250 spots the day before. The four of you are potentially the same group in the finals of the C (T4–6-7-8th).

  • Notable NINETEEN – Super senior / B defeats the three A players. That Ace guy who keeps winning up in the rankings, came into the weekend as #13 (when the event was locked) – dropped as low as 23 and wakes up Monday morning as #6.

  • Notable TWENTY – GongShow (2nd in the B) & NikeMom (T1st for the Ladies C), both playing for the gold.

  • Notable TWENTY ONE - Nivlac wins 4and2. That was vs Crenshaw and for the TC Senior crown. He and DaGoaler both advance in the A.

  • Notable TWENTY TWO – PoP notable Grumpy finished 25 minutes behind his group (in reality – that is not so bad since he was moved to two groups later. J$ was a pleasure, and I sure hope that Swayze stays out of the sand. He is 14 strokes behind and at least eight of those are in the sand.

  • LAST notable – there were four REAL FAN skins and four Culligan Water dogs today. They were all won by a different person. They either won 98 or 103 bones. Flyer is the only two day winner (with his 41 bone skin yesterday), he sits in second place with 139 bones. After two days T-Bone is the bones leader with his 141 bone trifecta on hole seven yesterday.

  • Final quote today goes to a Slammer that wasn't even at the event. When seeing a picture (from pointZero) on FaceBook - Boomer says "A new nickname - should be GrumpleSTATSkin." Hey AD - thank you!
