The Slammer Tour was honored to be a part of the opening day at Manderley. And what a day! Beautiful sunshine, immaculate greens (no winter kill we could find on Central-North) and an odd rule from the course that I'd never heard before. "No cart path". Yes, we were NOT allowed to drive our carts on the path due to water/mud, but we could scramble everywhere else. We were a small group as a big group is down in Binghamton right now. We may have been small but we had some top ranked slammers in the field and there was a lot of movement during some very enjoyable matches. A big thank you to Manderley for providing us with a 1st star prize - a lovely green Manderley golf hat. This course loves us! And it is reciprocated. All in all, a great day for my OC debut. Couldn't have had a better bunch of guys to play with.

  • POP: We were book-ended by golfers but us slammers kept up and finished the round in 4:15. Well done!

  • MANY THANKS to Stevie Ray for doing an outstanding job as our Doggie Master (he only had to pick up two balls … more on that later) and for Chucker for "volunteering" to be our Skins Master (OK, he may have had some help deciding). Much appreciated!

  • QuikSnap Doggie report: The greens were so green they must have blinded a lot of players because only 2 out of 5 were hit … well a couple of three-jacks did contribute to only two slammers splitting the pot and taking home 17 bones each. Winners are Bubba (#2 at 10') and Goofball, our rookie in the field (#16 @ 33').

  • Real Fans Skins: This is spring golf, any score can get you a skin. 5 skins today with 1 birdie from Rusty, 1 par from Bubba, a bogie from chill and Chucker picks up 2 par skins. Each were worth 7 bones.

  • WELCOME: GoofBall - a rookie playing his first event and he's already signed up for more. We have a keeper here people. Very nice guy.

  • WELCOME BACK: Rusty - he played 2 events in 2015, a couple in 2012 and a few in 2011. Hopefully picking up that skin today will bring him back often in 2016.
