Already a big positive with the 2021 Slammer season starting almost two months earlier than in 2020! PapaMalone had the honour of hitting the first tee shot of this new season and with the St. Lawrence as our backdrop how could we not feel appreciation for being able to enjoy this great game. And in March! It has been several years since Mother Nature has granted us a March start and it felt so great to be walking down fairways and catching up with our Slammer friends, new and old. Rivalries were formed and re-ignited, and I will guess that everyone today had at least one memorable shot, that kind that makes you want to come back again tomorrow. Great day and a great group of Slammers! Feeling like this will be an extra extraordinary year - Let's do this! Wooooooooooo

Highlights:

The Enigma, the one and only, the mystical conundrum of a Slammer had himself a magical day and looking at his accomplishments there is no difficulty in seeing why he took top honours today. Teddy defends against Papa Malone, Trix and AngryBird winning all his matches by the 16th hole and successfully "does not" three putt the 9th to claim half the doggie pot! He's the only Slammer in the field to par the 3rd hole with a tough slopey green and claims 14 points to start the year off in the lead on the Stirling Johnston Points Leaderboard. And what is a riddle wrapped in an enigma? The mechanics of the game itself are a riddle wrapped in an enigma inside a mystery. I will conclude in dedicating these to our Event winner, The Enigma: (answers can be found in the Notables) ......................................................................... Course Report

Prescott never ceases to amaze each spring as the winter sleep seems to do wonders for this course south of the city. Even though it poured rain all day yesterday the course had dried up beautifully and the greens wintered well. Kudos to the Super-superintendent!

Back nine doggies were tough to leash in today - All three doggie holes on the back were not claimed. Send me your comments about what happened out there - were there lots of three putts or did the off season dull our pin seeking radar?

LOST & FOUND: A few Slammers seemed to have had the dropsies today as Enigma lost a watch ( which was thankfully found by group 2) and Gator was missing his cell phone after his tee shot into 17 (but was found in the rough on 16 moments later by group 4)
