Today’s Slammer event was for Team East, the 2021 Commish’s Cup champions, who decided to use one of their Cup prize winnings, a complimentary round at the Marshes as a private Slammer event. Unfortunately our 12th member Hodgy couldn’t make it and he was truly missed. He was replaced by Claudio Escobar (ClubEG member). Indeed, it was a scorching hot day, but it was an exciting day for Team East to enjoy a competitive Slammer Tour event and celebrate as the 2021 Commish’s Cup champions. We had some great laughs and also reminisced of this great tournament from last July. A special welcome to Dylan Sousa (Big Country) and Brent Lappan (Babysitter), our two D players from our roster who played in their first Slammer event. This Holy Excited Little French Man (HELFM) was certainly feeling excited after the round specially organized for the Team East champions of the 2021 Commish’s Cup. Although he was bumped down to B2 the day before, he came to the Marshes course with a vengeance today. What a performance he had shooting a spectacular 82 in addition to defeating three A players and adding two birdies and one skin on the day. He gives credit to his fellow A players in his group for their encouragement and also to KidMoe who provided some awesome music in their cart. Congrats to the captain of the Team East 2021 Commish’s Cup champions on achieving 18 Stirling Johnston points.
