Cedarhill

Fri Apr 29, 3:00 pm

Coordinator: IronMaiden

That brisk wind that has accompanied most of our rounds so far this spring was there again today to challenge the field, but all in all not a bad day at Cedarhill as most Slammers played well and that makes for a fun 19th hole when everyone is in a good mood. And how can we not be when the sun is out, golf is back and there's nothing better than getting out again after a long winter.

Highlights:

Grasshopper had a spring in his step today as he defended against BeeCee and Sketchy and with his win against Cracker has catapulted his way to the top 4 in the C division. He came out of the gates flying high as he takes home the first doggie of the day and make that a trifecta as he sinks the 9 foot putt that earns him the skin on that hole as well. We found out that if you want Grasshopper's full attention and for him to listen make sure his belly is full and you give him a snack (see notables). Congrats and thank you for being our Doggie master today !

Course Report

Cedarhill always winters well, especially their greens with their sneaky speed that prove to be quite the test, especially on the front nine.

Notables

Pace of play was great today as everyone made a great effort to keep the pace. It happens once in a while that a group falls behind but the key is to go into catch up mode and close the gap again.

Fact of the Day: Grasshoppers have ears on their bellies. The grasshopper's auditory organs are found not on the head, but rather, on the abdomen. A pair of membranes that vibrate in response to sound waves are located one on either side of the first abdominal segment, tucked under the wings. This simple eardrum, called a tympanal organ, allows the grasshopper to hear the songs of its fellow grasshoppers.
