With the rain we experienced yesterday, many thought the course was going to be unplayable. But Metcalfe was open and for the most part reasonably dry and so playable. Lots of close matches as the majority of the matches were determined on the 16th, 17th or 18th hole. Successful defences outnumbered upsets by 4 to 1. Madz wins the semi-final CMPC O match against A Mac while Lightning takes out Will in the quarter final CMPC C match. Four doggies taken while only 3 skins won. Those are big bones. The golf gods smile on the Slammers providing us with summer weather (dry), good playing conditions and some close competitive and enjoyable matches. Your OC, KC.
Our event winner nod goes to AngryBird whose garage practice sessions over the winter has paid off big time in summer Slammer golf. AngryBird successfully defends against Bookie, KidsClub and Nicky. Metcalfe Golf Club was in very good condition given the fact that yesterday we had that downpour that closed roads in many parts of the city. Metcalfe designated several holes as cart path only as they were wet while most were dry and in fairly good condition. Greens were receptive and fast. Thanks to the staff at Metcalfe for great service from Rob, the proshop, starter and the 19th hole staff. Thank you.
