Seven groups of Slammers played under seasonably warm conditions at Meadows today and we had a healthy amount of Slammers stay for a fun 19th hole with lots of chatter and golf talk as we complete this first week of the 2024 wrap around Slammer Tour season. But tomorrow we go back in time as we play the final event of the 2023 season with the Slammies following right after and so far weather looks good to play and crown the #1s for each division. We had four Slammers in the field today who were previous Preston cup recipients - Duke (2021), Pepilepu (2020), Gator (2018 & 2013) & IronMaiden (2012 & 2008) and we're all excited to see who will take this honour for 2023! Thank you everyone for a great day. *UPDATE: Congrats to Gatorette who is our 2023 Preston cup Slammer of the year!
Duke defended against all that challenged today and he only needed 17 holes to complete this task against T-bird, Moz and Intruder. As Doggie master he really wanted to hear his own name as he reported the dogs of the day and we've never heard him belt out those results so loud as he read Duke & Duke on the first two holes of the day taking home those two puppies. He did say however he was happy to share and left a few for other Slammers. Kidding aside, super playing in tough-ish conditions today and good luck Duke in your quest for #1 tomorrrow!
