Four full groups of Slammers ventured south to Prescott today and my oh my were we treated to some of the best late fall golf so far this new season. We started our event at 10 am so it felt a little cool but no frost and no delay. As we checked in to the pro shop at Prescott today we overheard a member of the grounds crew talking with Steve telling him that he had just finished rolling the greens and that they were going to be fast. That, as usual, is an understatement as Prescott greens are known to be lightening fast and sometimes at the most inopportune times. Cries of "OMG", "are you kidding me?", "Did you see that!", "STOP!", and lots of "*%$*#@& ! ! !" could be heard as some putts rolled past and just didn't stop until they were far far away from the hole. But, we enjoyed every moment on the course today as the weather was absolutely spectacular and when that sun came out it was heavenly. Pure golf happiness. RockJim had a great day at Prescott today and based on his 80% win record so far this 2024 season this Slammer is on the radar for someone to watch out for already. He defended his top 10 B division rank against Dannat and recorded the wins against A division players Moz and P-Bomb and this was no easy task as all matches were won on the 18th. Great match playing and way to hold on and push through right to the end! But that's not the end to this story as RockJim takes a par skin as the only Slammer to par the tough hole 3 with its diabolical green and sticks the dog to eleven feet on the equally tough hole 17! I will predict that later on in this 2024 season Moz and P-Bomb will be playing this Slammer at some time as a peer in the A division. Well done and keep up the great playing.

The conditioning at Prescott was so very superior to any expectations we could possibly have at this time of the year and the colours were still beautiful as not all the trees had lost their leaves yet at this course an hour south of the city.
