Welcome to the 2nd earliest ever Spring Slammer event to date only surpassed by yesterday's event at Cedar Glen. The range was open, carts were available and we were shedding layers by the third hole. And the course was in super mid March condition with fairways dry enough you could wear your good shoes! Three groups of Slammers were able to get away from work to enjoy some early Spring golf under sunny skies and as you take Barrydale road towards the course and pull into the parking lot you are greeted by the most beautiful view of the lake and the ski hills. Calabogie is said to come from the gaelic phrase CALLADH BOGAIDH: MARSHY BAY. Early documents list the place as Calaboga and in those days it referred to the lake and not the town. After our round we enjoyed some excellent fare at the Calabogie brewing company - Great day with great Slammers !
Koala showed that winter trips pay off as he hits the course today in mid summer form taking home 17 Matheson points as he takes down Skeeter, Moz and Duke and defends his newly acquired A1 spot in the rankings! He didn't wait for the field to get warmed up as he takes the first doggie of the day on the third hole and nets three birdies in the first seven holes that all hold up for the skins. And he did all this with three less strokes than his median - Impressive!

Course Report
Calabogie was in absolutely fantastic mid March condition with dry fairways which meant no plugged balls that are usually expected at this time of year. Big Thank you to Shawn and his crew for making sure everything was top shelf for the Slammers today.
