This was the first Slammer event in Ottawa for the 2023 calendar year. Such a great course near the heart of the city and oh so close. Five groups came out to shake off the winter blues in attempt to get the golf mechanics going. Summer is around the corner and all were glad just to be out again swinging the sticks. So nice to see all those Slammers from newbies to season vets.
Lightning came out to play today as he let his sticks do the talking. This C Slammer shoots a sweet 43 on the front giving him a comfortable lead over his fellow Slammer competitors. He takes out Fairway Phil, Angry Bird and KidsClub on the 11th, 12th and 13th hole, respectively. He was on fire. He takes home a dog, a skin and a birdie to boot. Lightning jumps the C ranking ladder from C41 to C4. We could hear the thunder by Lightning. Well done, sir!!

Course Report
Last week the course was extremely dry with no visible water on the the fairways. After a couple of days of downpours Pine View was wet down several fairways. But hey it's Spring golf. Just so enjoyable to be out playing golf during a weekday close to home. Thank you Pine View for allowing the Slammers to play during members opening day.
